The above box provides the user with all the information
that the user needs to make Interactive trades with Wagerstreet.com.
At first glance you can see that the Rams are favored by
6.5 points (-6.5) and their opponent the Bronco's are getting
6.5 points (+6.5). You can also note that;
The BID (BUY) price of the Rams is $70
The ASK(SELL) price of the Rams is $65
The BID (BUY) price of the Broncos is $35
The ASK (SELL) price of the Broncos is $30
Selection Column
The selection box informs us that the event is being
held between the Rams and the Broncos, it also presents
the user with the fixed spread of the game.
In the above example the Rams are Favored by 6.5 points,
meaning that in order for the Rams to be graded as winners,
they must win by more than 6.5 points. The Rams opponent
the Bronco's are +6.5 points (or "getting" 6.5
points).
The spread on Interactive Wagering Events is determined
before the game starts (usually the morning of the schedule
event) and will Never Fluctuate, no matter what the
score or situation is.
In addition to the "spread" of the game (in this
case 6.5), Interactives also have another variable, the
Share Price. Although the spread will never fluctuate
once it has been set, the share price of each team may fluctuate
considerably depending on the score and situation of the
game.
Ask Column
The ask column lists the ASK or sell price of each team,
this is the current SELL price that users may SELL or "unload"
their current positions at, if a currently owns 5 shares
of the Bronco's but would like to "unload" or
sell his position, he would have to do it at the current
SELL price.
Bid Column
The BID column list the Bid or BUY price of each team. Like
the ASK column the Bid Column list the current price to
BUY shares of that team. If a user would like to BUY 5 shares
of a team, he must pay the BID price for that team.
Obviously as the game unfolds, the odds of either team
covering the spread will vary depending on the score
and situation of the game. Because of this the share price
of each team will fluctuate in tandem with the outcome of
each play.
Wagerstreet.com's Interactives are structured so that each
team is comparable to a financial Stock. As the game is
unfolds the teams share price will fluctuate based
on the teams performance (or chances of covering the spread).
In the above example the Rams -6.5 has a BID of $70
and an ASK of $65.
Remember the bid price in simple terms is the BUY
price, if you want to buy shares of the Rams because you
think they will cover the -6.5 spread, then you must pay
$70 for each share you want to buy. If the Rams win the
game by 6.5 points or more all shares of the Rams will be
worth $100 (giving you a profit of $30).
The ask price is simply the SELL price for that particular
team. In order to SELL shares of a team, you must first
own shares of the team, provided that you do in fact own
shares of the Rams, you would be able to sell them at the
ASK price of $65 per share.
# of Shares Columns
Within these columns, users will find input the number
of shares they would like to either BUY (BID) or SELL (ASK).
A few things to note are:
1. Users may buy as many shares as they like provided that
they have sufficient funds in their wagerstreet.com account*
2. Funds are added or deducted out of the users account
with each transaction, if for example 10 shares of the Rams
-6.5 AT $70 were purchased $700 would be deducted from the
users account, the $700 will not return to the users account
until:
- the user sells his shares at whatever the ASK price
is currently -OR-
- the game is over and the shares are graded out at either
$0 for the loser or $100 for the winner. (if the Rams
failed to win the Interactive, $0 would be added to the
users account, if the Rams won the Interactive $1000 would
be added to the users account (10 shares @ $100 per share
=$1000.00).
Remember, Wagerstreet.com Live Interactive wagering action
occurs throughout the game, with share price fluctuation.
Thus the experienced Interactive user need not select the
team that eventually covers the spread in order to make
a profit consider;
If for instance the Rams were trailing the game in our example
10-0, the price on the Rams -6.5 would likely have have
been;
BID $25
ASK $20
A user would have been able to buy the Rams at $25. The
current share price in our example however is
BID $70
ASK $65
Our user would now be able to SELL his purchased
shares of the Rams at the current example price of $65,
that is a $40 dollar profit per purchased share.
This is just one example of how to profit buy playing Wagerstreet.com's
Live Interactive Wagering, many other possibilities for
fun and profit exist. Please take note, because Interactive
wagering takes place while the game is being played,
the share prices of the teams can become quite volatile,
thus the opportunity arises for large profits, and consequently
large losses, Wagerstreet.com advises its users to please
trade responsibly.
